In Ontario, a person’s car engine broke down on the road because they failed to change the oil (the oil had completely run out).
The company refused to cover the $19,000 engine replacement under warranty, stating that the individual had not fulfilled their responsibility to change the oil.
The car owner said they couldn’t afford the cost and that the car would now be scrapped.
Don’t Forget to Change Your Oil on Time!
Make sure to change your car’s oil on time and always keep the receipt for warranty purposes.
Note: Many of us believe that oil changes for vehicles under warranty must be done at the dealer’s service center. This isn’t entirely true. I asked my car dealership about this, and they said, “You can get your oil changed anywhere you like, but you need to keep the receipt and provide it if needed.”
You can check with your dealership for clarification.
