The annual license plate sticker fee in Ontario has been eliminated.
These fees will no longer be charged, but you still need to complete your plate registration online.
You can renew your license plate for two years for free through the Service Ontario website at:
YOU WILL GET A REFUND!
All payments made on or after March 1, 2020, will be refunded to you automatically. You don’t need to take any action to receive your refund.
For example, if you live in Toronto and paid $120 annually for the period between March 1, 2020, and March 12, 2022, the total amount of $360 will be refunded to you via cheque.
MAKE SURE YOUR ADDRESS IS UP-TO-DATE!
All refunds will be sent via mail as cheques. To ensure these cheques reach you, make sure your address is current. You can update your address on the Service Ontario website.
